The Litany of the Saints is one of the oldest and most beautiful prayers of the Church.

When a single Saint is invoked in the verse (V.), the response (R.) is ora pro nobis.
When multiple Saints are invoked, the response is the plural orate pro nobis.
Some of the Latin used is ecclesiastical Latin, a bridge language between classical Latin and
Italian. That is, Latin root words were used by the Church to create new words which didn't
exist in the classic Latin language. For the correct assignment and translation of these,
