San Gennaro was the Bishop of Naples, and is the patron against volcanoes and earthquakes.

Common names for lodolite include mineral quartz, garden quartz and landscape quartz because of the organic appearance of the inclusions.

Mineral quartz is properly termed lodolite, and is characterized by a buildup of mineral deposits within the rock crystal. The deposits look like minature gardens or bundles of moss, and in these beads are a rich, purply red. Just fascinating to look at, and soothing to pray!
