These lava rock beads are a lovely satin black. The surface is highly textured and porous, but is smooth and pleasant to handle. The Pater beads are polished brown dendritic opal beads with elegant star caps, making them easy to tell apart from the Aves. The creamy tans and browns are a superb contrast to the black lava rock.
The crucifix has openwork rose windows on the arm ends, shaped similarly to the Cathedral at Lourdes. The center features an openwork Jerusalem cross with feather decorations.
