Hematite is a common type of iron. When cut and polished, it makes for awesome, shiny & heavy beads. They have a cool grey color, with a super clean polish that makes them a joy to handle. Being made of iron, they are heavy in the hand and ultra-durable. It was constructed with heavy 19 gauge wire and 21 gauge wire wraps. This rosary would be ideal for someone interested in a weightier piece, though it may not be the best to carry around daily.
