This set of 5 Holy Wounds medals was taken from an aluminum and cocoa bean French 5 Wounds chaplet. The original medals are in excellent condition, so the reproductions which we bring to you are quite clean. The stations (individual medals) depict the 5 wounds which Christ suffered at His crucifixion: wounds of each foot, each hand and the piercing of His side. The 5 Holy Wounds chaplet was first approved by Pope Pius VII in 1822, simplified by Pope Leo XII in 1823, and remains a very popular configuration to this day.
